Well well well,
What have we here? A spring morning, or just a plain old Monday?
And you, how are you?
Funny how we don’t often ask ourselves the same question. Perhaps because we aren’t sure. These past two weeks have been rather full, full of the basic act of survival, which proves itself to be quite the mission, when you are human.
In many ways, survival depends on our very human ability to want life. It’s something we don’t often think of when we boil a kettle or turn on a tap with running water. Because we’ve made our lives so simple and streamlined in order to focus on the main human need to earn money for more survival. So survival is it, it’s everywhere, and though it is a bit over the top to say it’s destroying us, it is certainly taking a lot of our energy and time on this planet.
And then things get really stripped back. I don’t have a tap yet with running water, so I collect it in big bottles and jars and basins. I boil water on a stove. And yes, a part of me loves it. Up and down the hill we go, to charge ye old devices. I took a long ride on my scooter yesterday and hitchhiked home because, as usual we ran out of battery (both scooter and silly old me). A kind lady took scooter and I in to her car with a boot full of plants and we chatted about the local landscape, its highs and its lows,
